Enjoy Chicago’s Christkindl Market

Experience the wonders of the outdoor German-style Christkindl Market

Experience the wonders of the outdoor German-style Christkindl Market, brimming with a variety of holiday food and entertainment. Three open-air Chicago Christkindl Markets recreate European holiday traditions through Old World gifts, live entertainment, shopping, and authentic German cuisine.

“It is an experience like none other, with delicious food and drink, beautiful handmade crafts and ornaments. The Christkindl market goes beyond a shopping and dining experience and becomes a truly genuine family experience,” said Kate Bleeker, Director of Expansion & Market Development of the Christkindl Market.

The Market offers a variety of price points for holiday souvenirs. Your Christmas spirit truly comes alive at Wildlife Ornaments. Create holiday memories with unique decorations for your tree with animals, sports, cars, and more unique tree toppers. Bring the entire family to Wacky Wonderworks to purchase and assemble intricately designed wooden STEM trains, dinosaurs, trucks, puzzles, and toys.

"There is a magical feeling you get at the Christkindl market. This event has become more than just a market; it really has become a Chicago tradition," stated Kate Bleeker.

Bring an appetite for the Market's variety of delicious and inexpensive food options. Indulge in mouth-watering burgers, chicken sandwiches, and french fries at The Schnitzel House. Taste the authentic traditions of Germany at Traditional German Food, LLC, including hot soups, curry sausages, sauerkraut, potato pancakes, and hot and cold drinks.

Save room for dessert! Warm off the winter chill by sipping Bob's Belgian Hot Chocolate or dive into the delicious candy assortment at Sweet Castle. United Chocolate Works turns toothsome cocoa beans into memorizing art creations, from wrenches to flowers, almost too beautiful to eat. (Almost!)

As you navigate each of the charming shops, be on the lookout for the Christkind herself. Dressed in gold and white robes with a crown on her head, the Christkind is a fairy-like being. Originating in Europe, Christkind is known as a gift-giver during the holiday seasons. (The visits for Christkind may vary during the holiday season.)

Hours and Locations: Christkindl Market has three different locations to choose from: Chicago, Wrigleyville, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Admission for each location is free! The Chicago market is located at Daley Plaza and is open daily from November 15th to December 24th. Hours of operation range from Sunday-Thursday 11 am-8 pm, Friday and Saturday 11 am-9 pm and Holiday hours are 11 am-4 pm.

Make your holidays special with a visit to the delightful Christkindl Market.
