This Brewery's For You

An Inside Look at Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis

Want to visit the home of America’s most popular beer? Visit Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis to experience and enjoy the original site of Budweiser. Even if you’re not a beer-lover you will enjoy the unique architecture and history since some of the buildings date all the way back to the 1860s.

Although there are countless brewery tours across the country, Anheuser-Busch sets itself apart from the rest by providing visitors with an in-depth experience and an abundance of various attractions.

Robb Jeffrey, Budweiser Marketing Supervisor, explains that the tour is “an eye-opening experience for a lot of people in terms of how clean the facility is as well as the scale of the property.” According to Jeffrey, the complimentary tour is the most popular. This 45-minute tour is perfect for all ages, (beer samples are only for 21+, of course!) and features the entire 7-Step Brewing Process.  A highlight of this tour is a visit to the historic stables where visitors can see the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. These beautiful horses have been the stars of many iconic Super Bowl commercials.

There are also paid options for those seeking a more in-depth experience. The BeerMaster Tour is a 2 ½ hour behind-the-scenes tour with a private tour guide. Beer School is a 21+ interactive 45-minute class that shows visitors a variety of beer, ingredients and food-pairing suggestions.

While at the brewery, make sure to visit the Biergarten, which as Jeffrey points out is “not your typical bar”. Strictly serving beer and featuring all of Anheuser-Busch products, the Biergarten is the perfect stop for grabbing a drink and bite to eat after the tour. The on-site kitchen serves up delicious menu items that everyone will enjoy, such as ribs, burgers, wraps, salads and soups.

Although Memorial Day to Labor Day is the most popular time to visit, be sure to mark your calendar for the seasonal events such as Brewery Lights and Oktoberfest. Also, keep an eye out during the Super Bowl for the Clydesdales. Typically, the “star” of the commercial will be on display at the brewery.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, Anheuser-Busch is open Monday through Thursday from 11 am – 8 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11 am – 9 pm and Sunday from 11 am – 6 pm.

During off season hours, Labor Day to Memorial Day, hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 am – 8 pm and Sunday from 11 am – 6 pm. Hours may vary.
