St. Louis has several top-notch museums.

Best known for the Gateway Arch, St. Louis is a shining city with plenty of culture.  They have no shortage of attractions to entertain visitors, with everything from stunning natural caverns, to wineries, museums, historical homes and more. Here we’ve compiled a list of a few of St. Louis’ award-winning museums.

If you’re looking to a classic museum experience and to gaze upon fine art and history, look no further than the St. Louis Art Museum. They have over 300,000 works of art from all over the world, including Oceanic art, Chinese bronzes, and European art from the 19th and 20th centuries. For evening fun, they have their SLAM Underground event that features art-making, live music, and a cash bar.

For a more interactive experience, families will love visiting the St. Louis Science Center. They make science and learning fun with over 700 hands-on exhibits. You can see a film in their OMNIMAX Theater, which is one of the largest in the world, see space in the James S. McDonnell Planetarium, and partake of their seasonal exhibitions.

To keep the fun going, there is Laclede’s Landing Wax Museum in an 1885 cast iron facade warehouse building that is a National Historic Landmark. They have life-like wax figures from all around the world. There are five floors of famous faces to see including movie stars, political figures, super heroes, movie monsters, and more. Be sure to bring your camera some truly memorable photos.
