Family Fun in Dallas

Mini Golf, Aquariums, and Zoos the Whole Family Can Enjoy

Whether putting together a planned vacation or an impromptu day trip, Dallas is the city to go to for family fun. From toddlers to teens, the kids will have a blast at these attractions, and adults will discover they're still kids at heart.

Adventure Landing

“With over 100 interactive arcade games, Laser Tag, go-karts, miniature golf, bumper boats, and batting cages, we offer something for everyone,” says Natalie Dunlap of Adventure Landing. Family members of any age will find something fun to do. The twisting quarter-mile go-kart track is perfect for challenging your teenager’s driving skills. Just don’t be surprised if they get you back in the Laser Tag battle area. Afterwards, bring the whole family together for a round of miniature golf on an 18-hole course that challenges all skill levels. For families planning something special, Dunlap says, “Adventure landing also offers great birthday party packages and can host groups of any size.”

Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park

Have a fin-tastic experience at the Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park. With interactive, eye-level exhibits, this aquarium was designed with kids in mind. There are 55 exhibits with 256 different species to learn about, making it both an educational and entertaining experience.

Explore aquatic life from all over the world with the different habitats. Peer into tanks filled with creatures like electric eels, seahorses, clownfish, sea turtles, stingrays, and more. Guests can even interact with the animals at zones like Stingray Bay and the Tidal Touch Zone, or there are the daily feedings at 2:30 PM.

Kiest Park

For free fun and a chance to let the kids run around and play on their own, head over to Kiest Park. The park is over 250 acres and includes three large play structures for all ages, as well as baseball fields, volleyball courts, and more. Children will be entertained for hours with the assortment of swings, slides, metal cars, instruments, and games. Families can enjoy an easy hike along the trails, or have a cook-out at the grill. It’s also both wheelchair and stroller-accessible, so everyone from the newborn to grandmother can enjoy the park.

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament

Want to sit down for a fun dinner and a show? Come to Medieval Times to watch epic battles of chivalry and steel as knight joust, duel, and compete for the Queen’s favor. Children and parents alike will marvel over the equine show and falconry demonstration.

Kids will especially love the fact that they get to eat with their hands, with a four-course meal that includes garlic bread, roasted chicken, sweet-buttered corn, tomato bisque, and dessert. There’s also a vegetarian option, and adults can enjoy liquid libations and coffee with their meal.

Dallas Zoo

For cheetah encounters, elephant sightings, and hippo outposts, the only place to go is the Dallas Zoo. Children and parents alike will be in awe of the assortment of mammals, birds, and reptiles that call the zoo home, discovering animals they may never have even heard of and learning fascinating facts about the ones they have.

Feed towering giraffes bunches of fresh romaine lettuce. Observe a herd of elephants finding hidden treats in the branches of trees in their habitat. Meet more than 40 different animals on the Wild Encounters Stage, including a serval cat, an African-crested porcupine, and a spur-thigh tortoise.
