With 72 designated historic districts, Baltimore more than lives up to its nickname the "city of neighborhoods.” Having grown into a small but bustling metropolis, its most notable and culturally different areas include the Inner Harbor, Fells Point and Little Italy.

Baltimore is also home to the arts, with Mt. Vernon acting as the artistic hub of the city while the Bolton Hill neighborhood features Artscape, the largest free arts festival in America. Seeing a performance is never difficult since the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Center Stage and plenty of professional and community theater groups are located right in this area.
